as you all probably know, bryson tiller is my idol..

after going on twitch and insta livestreams and finally surprising us with a zoom call, i had a feeling bryson would drop his album at 12am on 2 Oct 2020 - 5 years after TRAPSOUL had originally released (2 Oct 2015). i've never been so happy about an artist and a real one at that. the album name ANNIVERSARY couldn't have been any better, paying homage to TRAPSOUL. leading up to the album's release, Tiller dedicated a series of billboard's in his native Louisville to the memory of Breonna Taylor, instead of promoting his new album; dedicating this album to his granny who told him to include this song title, "KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING"; and delivering to us, his fans, an album filled with TRAPSOUL vibes. i order the lithograph from his ANNIVERSARY album and his hoodie and crewneck from the TRAPSOUL deluxe which he dropped earlier on. he inspires me so much to do better cause "if there is a will, there is a way." this album hit home; the fact he got a song with his own idol Drake is such an accomplishment for him ('Outta Time'). i'm so happy for him man. he deserves all the happiness in the world. i made a lil' something to tribute his long awaited album.

stream his album now: A N N I V E R S A R Y

i didn't grow up practicing in church or at school. i got inspired by the likes of bryson tiller, che ecru and sahxl which got me to make music in my bedroom. i was listening to a lot of bryson and che and i just mimicked them singing alot. i wasn't born with the greatest set of vocals or natural talent, so i had to teach myself. i just started training my vocals whilst watching eric arceneaux to work on my breathing, my vocals, articulation and flow. it's been helping a lot. i'm honestly trying to get better at singing. i just want to be the greatest vocalist on stage so i can give fans a real show, like bryson tiller does.

peace and luv 🤍

man… it took me so damn long.

a month ago, SNCS and I were ready to drop my single 'let you go.' we had finished recording and it was sounding hella good but something just didn't feel right. no matter how many times we tried to improve on it, it just wouldn't go our way. it was then we realised that good things take time and decided to hold back the release.

i was guttered. i wanted to step into the game right away. but i came to accept that everything happens for a reason and it just wasn't my time. i took it as a learning opportunity and took that time to practice my vocals (vocal control, vibratos, melodies and singing in general). it was the best decision ever.

8 months into the works and my vocals have improved so much in a short amount of time (there's still room for improvement), simply cause i had the will to go away and perfect my craft even though i was eager to drop my single at the time. i’m glad we took a minor step back to work on something major!

i just wanted to create a place where i could post anything and everything, strictly for my fans… think of this as the official space for all things 'Amāre'. it’s run by me and only me. It ain’t super fancy or anything, just my thought processes and pivotal moments addressed in the most chill informal way, ya feel?

everything will be kept in chronological order so if you missed something you can always come back and it’ll be here. anyway… i know most of you probably won’t keep up with this… but for those who are, i look forward to sharing this journey along with you!

peace and luv 🌹
